During the last two weeks of August 99 We took a trip to Anchorage Alaska with our Daughter Jeni and her husband Bill who is being transfered to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage Alaska

I know a lot of you have seen 'Old Faithful' in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming well, this is not it, this is Castle Geyser we waited about an hour and a half to see it go - spewed for about 20 minutes to a height of 200 feet. Since everyone has seen pictures of Old Faithful I thought you might enjoy a different geyser instead.

Entering the Canadian Province of Yukon that is located in Northern Canada,  we saw our first new snow on the mountains near White Horse, Yukon, Canada.

We finally made it to Alaska

The Alaska Highway going into the Chugach Mountains in Alaska. This was quite a long trip for us, from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Anchorage, Alaska.  We traveled 4,100 miles and it took 9 1/2 days. We had a great time, saw a lot of country, many wild animals (including buffalo, elk, deer, caribou, coyote, big horn sheep, moose, fox, eagles, canadian geese and many other small mammals).   We also saw some great scenery and I would rank them as follows:
